A Study on Correlation between Subjective Perception and Job Satisfaction. of Community Health Practitioner

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine job satisfaction-related factors and to analyze the relationship between subjective perception and job satisfaction of Community - Health Practitioner (CHP).
The subjects for this study were 103 CHPs who were serving at rural area in Chonnam Province, and this survey was done by using perceptual orientation scale and job satisfaction index from September 4 to October 10, 1983.
Relationships between subjective perception and job satisfaction, and between the above mentioned score and independence variables, such as educational level, motivation of choosing present job, expected period of service, and social contribution of the CHP¢¥s work were analyzed by means of F-test and Pearson¢¥s correlation coefficient.
The results were as follows:
Majority of CHPs showed. a satisfaction for "social contribution of the CHP¢¥s work" (85.4%), "job-required skill and training" (81.6%), and "professional independence" (55.3%), while "physical surroundings on work" (13.6%), "utilization of health resources" (9.7%), "equipments and facilities of community health center" (8.7%), "job-related clerical and paper work" (3.9%), and "salary" (1.0%), were less satisfactory.
The mean perception score was 217.5, and proportional to the social contribution of the CHP¢¥s work (F=7.768, p<0.001).
The mean job satisfaction score was 59.8, and proportional to the expected period of service and the social contribution of the CHP¢¥s work (F=3.728, P<0-05; F=10.484, p<0.001). The job satisfaction score varied according to job motivation (F=2.535, P<0.05).
The subjective perception was correlated with job satisfaction (r=0.518, p<0.01).
